MGK Industries manufactures, supplies and exports planetary gearboxes for decanter centrifuges from Navi Mumbai, India. Our range covers Pennwalt type and Alfa Laval type gearboxes, built to OEM dimensions and tolerances so they fit your decanter without modification. We also recondition worn gearboxes and supply gearbox spare parts, so you get every gearbox need from one supplier.
In a decanter centrifuge, the bowl and the screw conveyor rotate in the same direction at slightly different speeds. The planetary (epicyclic) gearbox creates this small speed difference, called the differential speed, while transmitting very high torque. The differential speed decides how fast solids are conveyed out of the bowl, so it directly controls cake dryness, liquid clarity and throughput.
A planetary gearbox spreads the load over several planet gears in a compact, coaxial housing that rotates with the bowl. This makes it the ideal drive for the heavy, continuous duty of a decanter, but it also means a gearbox failure stops the whole machine.
Planetary gearboxes for Pennwalt (Sharples) type decanters such as the P and PM series. Supplied new or as exchange units, built to OEM dimensions and tested before dispatch.
Planetary gearboxes for Alfa Laval type decanters such as the NX and ALDEC series. Precision-made gears, bearings and seals for long, reliable service.
A worn gearbox does not always need replacing. Our planetary gearbox reconditioning service restores it to full performance at a lower cost. We also supply planetary gearbox spare parts such as sun gears, planet gears, ring gears, carriers, bearings and seals.
